The Myanmar discovery circuit - Day 3 (evening) - Mandalay, dinner and performing acts - The 14th of November 2015



We had dinner at a local restaurant in town which had performing arts being carried out during the meal. Despite being difficult to "taste" the exquisite Burmese cuisine and thoroughly admire Art simultaneously, I always felt thrilled the moment I realised I would have a chance to be exposed to the traditional sounds of a country whose music we are not so often used to, this being the case of the Burmese harp, which produced a rather exquisite sound, made even more exquisite when mingled with the voice of the local female singer. Puppet performances were always a treat and so were the dancing ones - unique lessons on the art of  the slow "movement" ...


































Prior to going to sleep I packed my first shopping articles, which despite being virtually costless - a hand-painted fan, a foldable straw hat, a puppet, a book with magnificent photos of various Burmese landscapes, some straw hand-made cards and a set of three book markers - were priceless ...
