Praia, Santiago island - Cape Verde - The 25th of November 2014 (morning)

As we were awaiting a call from a friend of mine, a rather active member of the Cape Verdian Parliament,  Graça Sanches, then involved in the discussion of the National budget for 2015 and whose timetable we were dependant on, Noëlle and I decided not to move too far away from the Plateau area, though we made our way into the Sucupira market and along the Avenue leading to Amilcar Cabral's Mausoleum, which we were lucky enough to be able to visit, once the lady who kept its key just happened to show up as we were walking by.

We continued walking along the shore in the direction of Gamboa beach and still a bit farther onto Prainha. On the way back to Plateau we stopped at a nice café restaurant overlooking Gamboa, the islet and the Plateau belvedere and although it was particularly hot we made it back without too many problems, with the exception of the steep stairways' climb onto the Plateau belvedere area.
