Prior to getting lodged at the Skotel Alpine Resort in the vicinity of the Tongariro National Park considered a UNESCO World Heritage site for natural and spiritual cultural reasons we stopped in the surrounding nature so as to get the feeling of raw beauty followed by a short walk to the Tawhai falls.
The view from our bedroom at the Skotel Alpine Resort was amazing. The volcanic mountain peaks could be seen in the distance. I was just wondering what the following day would be like, once we would have a long journey ahead which included a six hour tracking.
