I ventured into some of the hotel areas I hadn't been to before and came across a piano standing in a room with walls covered in modern New Zealand paintings, which came as a surprise taking into account the overall decoration of the hotel premises.
We had decided to visit the Pah Homestead and the Wallace Arts Collection located in Monte Cecilia Park and had to therefore catch a bus near Victoria Park fairly early in the morning. As I looked at the bus stop I saw an advertisement that had me feel good straight away. How humourous the concept of "Be-yooo-diful NZ" ...
We ended up getting onto the wrong bus, so we had to get off at the closest possible stop to where we wanted to go, which meant we had to walk under the strong sun for at least one hour, but it was worth it because the moment we reached the fully restored and adapted by the Auckland City Council James Wallace Arts Trust Centre we fell in love with the whole atmosphere.
We strolled around the surrounding gardens on which stood quite a few different style architectures. Sir James Wallace is said to have begun collecting New Zealand Art in the mid 1960's with a particular focus on emerging artists. Having had his collection transferred to a Charitable Trust in 1992, the body of works now numbers 9000 and is said to remain in its entirety as a cultural resource for present and future generations.

The artistic pieces spread in its interior were of a more modern style and although I am not particularly keen on such type of Art still fell for quite a few sculptures, paintings and pictures I ended up photographing.
