The four day trip to the Netherlands (Day 3 morning still) - Eindhoven, The Van Abbe Museum (cont.) - The 16th of May 2015

(...)

We continued admiring the beautiful Van Abbe's collection of paintings as we made our way further down onto another floor. There were a few paintings I highly appreciated by artists I had never heard of, such as Jan Sluijters or Carel Willink. Despite not appreciating Still Life type of paintings I felt the ones in display were quite eye catching.

Binnenhuis Kempen by Arthur Briët - 1936 (left). Polderlandschap by Cornelis Vreedenburgh - 1931 (right).

Kid Oliveira, the boxer by W. van de Plas - 1939

Same moment, two different memories by Esther Tielemens - 2015

When we left the Van Abbe Museum some two hours after having walked in it was raining heavily but we made our way onto the surrounding gardens feeling happy for having visited such an interesting Museum.
