Once we reached the Sani Mountain Lodge restaurant it was like reaching the top of the world. The view was unique with the blanket covered villagers looking back at us in their akward way of welcoming us without daring to approach us. The restaurant was rather unique as well with its hidden-like galeries. Our buffet lunch had been previously ordered and it was very different from the meat plates we had been having since our arrival in South Africa.
Driving back down the narrow and steep Sani pass road was as dangerous as driving up but by then we had acknowledged the professionalism of the driver and the fact that we were definately in good hands, which made the drive a much pleasanter one.
We got back to the Drakensberg Gardens Hotel right before it started raining heavily and in time for dinner, which we had in a different restaurant within the complex, once most weekend tourists had gone and there wasn't but our small group.
