New Zealand circuit - Christchurch - Botanic Gardens - Day 18 - The 16th of March

As we made it to the Botanic Gardens we noticed the first gatherings close to the eastern entrance where a flower memorial had been set up in honour of the victims of the terrorist attack. We had been told it wasn't advisable to be out and particularly exposed, once the authorities didn't know if there were more accomplices involved, but to be honest we felt secure. There were several police in the streets of Christchurch and everyone seemed to have gone back to their normal daily life.

We strolled around the Botanic Gardens, which are very beautiful, namely because of the care with which the flower beds and trees were taken care of, as well as the artificial lakes named Victoria and Albert, which clearly attracted (and may normally attract) ducks (beautiful ducks) and other bird life, which made it all look like a natural environment. At one particular moment in time it felt as if I were in Italy because of the gondola ... and various other times I felt I was surrounded by creativity and Art.
