By the time we reached Taq-e Bostan, believed to be a former Sassanide hunting park, it was dark and the details of the carved "grottoes" I had been dreaming of could hardly be seen, so despite the beauty of the surrounding atmosphere and the misteriousness of the place I asked Masoomeh and Morteza to bring me back the following day during daylight, so that I might thoroughly appreciate the carvings.
