Isfahan, Iran - Day 2 - "Feeling" the city the Iranian way - The 12th of August 2019

We set off around 10 to do some shopping. I wasn't surprised to come across a seller wearing Cristiano Ronaldo's T-shirt, once I knew to which extent the young Portuguese footballer has had an impact in the young generation all over the world.

It was going to be a warm day, so we somehow decided to take advantage of the parks and sit around under the many shades the city provides, drink safron tea and just relax.

On the way to the Imam square we met a librarian, came across a number of city handicraft stalls and played with some Afghan youth refugees.

We later decided to take a stroll till the Zayande Rud river and just watch the river flow. I was fortunate to have met a young Azari boy, whom I gave a few small gifts to and whom I spent some nice moments with. Night fell and we were still lying on the banks of the river as many Iranians do when the weather is hot.

On the way back home we spent some time talking with two Iranian soldiers about life and life's dreams and expectations.

We felt we had had a quiet and peaceful day by the time we reached home ... It felt good having "explored" the city the Iranian way ... without stress ... just relaxing and taking advantage of nature and the surrounding beauty.
