We met Didier around lunch time and after having taken a tram to Park de la Villette initiated our afternoon strolling along the canals up to Place de la Republique. We were fortunate enough with the weather but most of all enthralled with Didier's company.
Somehwere along the way we briefly sighted a number of refugees on their spread around tents and couldn't help but feel shocked.

By the time we reached our hotel we were exhausted but clearly happy and ready to go to sleep.
