Dubrovnik, Croatia - The San Franciscan church - The 23rd of April 2017

The San Franciscan Church said to have been destroyed by the earthqauke of 1667, was later reconstructed in Baroque style with a single nave and five side altars sculpted between 1684 and 1696.

Some of the arquitectural details and decorative elements were particularly impressive amongst which stood out the main central altar statue of the ressurected Christ among twisted marble columns.

I sat there for a while and almost inevitably pondered my own religious convictions and religious thought process since I left the school of nuns I lived at during my childhood.
