The splendour of the cities - The route of the tile - Temporary exhibition at Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon - The 7th of December 2013

I have been to Calouste Gulbenkian Museum to see a temporary exhibition on the route of the tile, a rather interesting one which takes its viewers across several continents, epochs and different approaches to this particular Art.

The exhibition is divided in five main themes assembling several tiles and tile panels therewith related - In the beginning; Walls that speak; Decoration and Message; Narrative Poetry and the Tile under the sign of progress - 19th and 20th centuries.

I was particularly impressed with the ones from Iran, because of not being acquainted with that style and having no idea of having seen them in Louvre, where they have been brought from for this particular exhibition.

Photos were not allowed and despite having bought a catalogue I feel I might go back sometime before the exhibition finishes to concentrate on some details I didn't have a chance to thoroughly see because of the number of people.
