Because we had part of the afternoon to do whatever we wanted to Danielle, Gerard and I decided to walk back to the Registan Square to admire the three Madrasahs once more and the Bibi Kanyhm Mosque just before "venturing" into the traditional shops that run parallel to them in order to do our last shopping.
Because of being Sunday many national visitors were to be seen around these absolutely stunning monuments, which we felt could be admired for endless hours. This also gave us the possibility to be among locals and eventually engage into conversation with some of them.
Danielle and I ended up buying some things under Gerard's supervision and above all patience, but I feel the three of us had a very interesting afternoon.
Upon having returned to the hotel we spent some time at a café overlooking the hotel swimming pool before changing for dinner, which would be at an old Caravanserei in the Registan Square.
We had dinner outside and for the first time since we had arrived in Uzbekistan I felt a bit chilly but soon after the music and dance show started and especially after having eaten some rather spicy stuffed peppers I felt fine again.
Uzbeks did surprise me on a regular basis and that evening show brought about moments of absolute joy. We would be leaving in three days' time and I began feeling a certain anxiety about getting back home.
