I was lucky enought to have been driven to Calheta by day and later by night. It is undeniably beautiful on that part of the island. The long stretches of golden-like sand and the ever changing green and blue colours of the water do impact the observer. Having sat at its beach restaurant whilst having a very tasty fish soup I wondered what it must be like to feel this beauty and quietness during one's holidays and I did envy many of the foreign visitors who were sitting next to me.
The late afternoon perspective of the same area was somehow different but equally interesting. There were quite a few people observing the sundown from the belvedere overlooking the beach I had been to in the morning. The same feeling of quietness filled the air.
We then drove a little bit further into the heart of the hill to see a secluded rock beach which has turned into one of the islands latest attractions mostly due to the everchanging colours of the water, I was told.
Prior to finding a little restaurant, where we sat talking while tasting a variey of fish and bean starters, we stopped by another belvedere, so as to get a night view of one side of the island.
