Guimarães, Portugal - On the way to Alberto Sampaio Museum - The Museum and the cloisters - the 1st of November 2019

Once I left the main square I strolled around the upper part of the city before walking back down as the rain was getting harder and a Museum seemed a good option. I ended up at Alberto Sampaio Museum. I have to confess it exceeded my expectations. The number of religious artifacts is invaluable. I cannot single out any particular artifact though I was particularly impressed with the a particular silver gilded triptych, as well as many of the sculptures and frescoes.

The suggested visit started at the cloisters of what was a former Monastery now housing the Museum. I couldn't help taking some picutre of the standing crucifixes at the entrance hall though.

Most of the pictures taken to the artifacts will, I personally feel, speak for themselves, this being the reason as to why I spent a whole magic morning admiring them.
