We reached Colombo by noon, just in time to have lunch at an English club like restaurant and soon after found out that we would only be "visiting" Colombo from inside the bus, that is, we wouldn't be able to walk out nor stop anywhere as we were expected to reach Negombo by late afternoon.
I didn't recall ever having been on a circuit before which didn't "contemplate a visit to the capital city, so under the circumstances we got our cameras out and started photographing what we felt was important as in accordance with the explanations provided by the guide, as we drove by. I felt it was a rather restrictive "sightseeing tour" of the city, to be honest.
