Artistic performances with a Moroccan "flavour" ...

I have recently watched outstanding performances by two female artists (an actress and a musician) which exceeded the limits of my expectations.

Lubna Azabal, the Belgian actress born in Brussels to a Moroccan father and Spanish mother couldn't have been better in the leading role of "Incendies", a 2010 Quebec film adapted from Wajdi Mouawad's play "Scorched Incendies", which unravells a Mother's secret story in what turns out to be a rather intense and disturbing family drama.

Hindi Zahra, of Moroccan Berber origin who has been living in France since an early age did surprise me  in the presentation of her first album "Handmade" in a concert that took place in an adapted storeouse along the Tagus river.

She was (is) brilliant on stage. Not only does she have a fabulous voice in a sort of "undefined" musical approach which incorporates blues, jazz and Berber rooted music but also a way to communicate with the public which I would consider second to none.

Two names worth remembering. I believe these two ladies will keep on surprising us (it can't be any other way).
