Having left Calheta, Telma, Celeste and Conceição spent the last two days visiting Praia in what turned out to be a deeper acknowledgement of what Cape Vedians are and went through during the historical periods as a former Portuguese colony.
Their first stop took them to Cidade Velha, once a pivot of the Portuguese empire.
The pilory standing right in the centre of Cidade Velha - a symbol and forever reminder of what slavery was all about.
