São Tomé and Principe Art and Culture at Museu da Cidade, Lisbon

Although I had expected to see something entirely different, I must confess I liked what I saw at the Museu da Cidade. Being one of several exhibitions incorporated in the 6th biennial on the Art and Culture of São Tomé and Principe it contemplates various styles from architecture to photography, artistic composition and painting by artists coming from the five continents.

This 6th Biennial aims at highlighting the cultural identity of São Tomé and Principe, emphasising its articulation with Central and Southern African countries and in particular its relation with the Community of Portuguese speaking countries.

The gardens of this 18th century Museum (known as the Palace Pimenta, one of his latest owners or Palacio do Campo Grande because of the area it is located at) are also worth visiting.
