The forthcoming trip to Calheta de São Miguel, Cape Verde

A few more presents have arrived  for the children of Calheta, which will be handed to them by the "godmothers" who will be travelling there soon.

Noëlle has sent quite a few things for little Erica and so has Charlotte for both Marline and Delmizia. I am dying to see what their reactions will be upon opening those boxes, which have just reached me from France.

Because there are a few girls (Marline, Leinira, Veronica and Lou) who have shown to be very artistic and who are always keen on experimenting new things, I have thought of buying some clay models, acrylic paint, varnish and brushes for them to paint throughout the year and have Celeste (one of the three "godmothers" who is travelling next month) to teach them some jewellery techniques as well under the supervision of a local youngster who has not made it to the University (Ângela) and who happens to be the sister of two of them.

Apart from entertainment this could be the beginning of something ... we'll just have to wait and see.
