New Zealand circuit - On the way to Christchurch - Tekapo river - Day 17 - The 15th of March 2019 (afternoon)

We drove towards Christchurch, which was to be the last city in our circuit and whether we wanted to accept it or not, the atmosphere had started changing the moment we realised the adventure would soon be over, there melancholy in the air. We stopped by the Tekapo river briefly and I felt it was more than magic. The blue colours of he river, the reflexes and the overall surrounding landscape were breathtaking. We had lunch at a very good Japanese restaurant overlooking this whole beauty and felt as if we were priviledged.

Before driving further we were allowed to go across the bridge and visit the small church that  could be seen in the distance. The number of visitors queuing up outside was such that I just managed to have a small glimpse, once the bus was waiting for us to board.

Some time farther along the way we stopped at the oldest Union Church in New Zealand (dating back to 1872) - St. Patricks, which was a rather cozy little wooden chapel-like church.
