We got up particularly early as if conscious it would be our last day in New Zealand. I didn't want to leave Christchurch without seeing as many street Art paintings as I possibly could, so we headed in that direction, having briefly stopped at the Transitional Cradboard Cathedral whose interior we hadn't had the chance to thoroughly visit. We were stunned by the fact that it is primarily made of carboard that isn't noticeable from the outside. One only really notices it when observing the way the rolls were put up from an inside perspective. It sits 700 people, which again is incredible.
Moving farther along we finally came across some of the amazing Street Art sculptures and paintings, that cohabit with the old buildings and do embelish the neighbourhood. Some of them are meticulously done and can't help but being noticed as one walks along - and that is true for a wide variety of those, from the simplest to the most elaborate ones.
We met our guide Lindy by the Conservatory complex in the Botanic Gardens and drove towards the Lyttelton bay and the Sumner beach for a last stroll on the coastline before an Italian-type of lunch prior to being driven to the airport. The last moments in a foreign country, which one has actually grown attached to, are always the most difficult ones ... and it wasn't any different with New Zealand. I had been away from home for almost a month and despite missing my home town I was beginning to feel I'd miss New Zealand soon.
