At Hamid's; Musical farewell session by Rohan - Isfahan, Iran - The 2nd of November 2018

Prior to getting our luggage from Mohammad's we passed by Hamid's, who had wanted to show us the floor he intends to rent to foreign families visiting Iran and have our opinion, as well as have his little boy, Rohan play us a farewell piece in his "ney" (a local flute), as well as hand us some minakari plates painted by Sarah, which were later wrapped in paper both his children had painted for us.

We had got attached to Hamid's family and all his family members and were beginning to find it difficult to leave them behind. Iranians are really nice and welcoming and this is I believe one of the reasons we felt we would have to return sometime.

The Safavid era Shaia Mosque and Ismail shrine - Isfahan, Iran - The 2nd of November 2018

Hamid felt we shouldn't leave Isfahan without visiting the Shaia Mosque and Ismail shrine dating back to the Safavid era, which is not contemplated in most of the tourist visits. The whole ensemble was impressive, particularly in regars to the decorative elements and the ceilings. On one of the walls outside the mausoleum itself we came across many expressed requests written by visitors, some of which Hamid took the time to translate for us. I must confess I was impressed by some of those and wondered to which extent they would be "satisfied".

Revisiting the Harun-e Vilayet Mausoleum - Isfahan, Iran - The 2nd of November 2018

Under the directions of Hamid we walked up to the Mausoleum of Harun-e Vilayet, which I had visited in 2014. I was still impressed by the representations on the wall and the decorative elements we could see everywhere, not to mention the mausoleum itself.
