New Zealand circuit - Wellington - Strolling around the city - Day 5 - The 2nd of February 2019 (afternoon and evening)

Because we would be leaving Wellington the following day the moment we left the Te Papa Museum we tried to cover the areas of the city centre we had not yet been to as we did our last shopping.

We naturally passed by streets we had walked on before and in regards to a mural I had been drawn to the first day I was unexpectedely given further information as to what it meant.

Nga Kakano: The seeds by Johnson Witehira featuring graphic representations of Maori ancestors and referencing an important Maori proverb "I will not perish, for I am a seed that was sown in Rangiatea".

We walked in and out of shops, cafés, alleys ... you name it and we were there in the city centralç area and the truth is we were beginning to really like it.

Feeling tired we stopped for a while at the rather bustling Harbour front area. Having met two of our trip companions we decided that once we got back to the Hostel we should join them in a night out at a restaurant in Cuba street.

Before leaving I assembled the souvenirs I had bought that day on the bed and photographed them. I was beginning to fall in love with the Paua shell and couldn't resist buying different necklaces. The Maori bone carved necklaces had been bought at the Museum, which was one of the few places we could get genuine Maori art at.
