We stopped at a local restaurant overlooking the Chindwin river, the main tributary of the Ayeyarwady. The restaurant decoration was rather simple yet well succeeded and though it did not interfere with the cuisine, which was equally good it did help towards the cosy type of atmosphere.
We were unfortunately unable to sit on the table overlooking the river where some children were trying to catch some fish in a traditional way as a fishing boat sailed by with ranges of hills in the back. The view was rather peaceful and that set the tone for the afternoon "exploration".
(To be continued)
