The Romania circuit - The afternoon of the second day (cont.) - the 21st of May 2012

(...)

We  walked towards Piate Huet with the thirteenth century passage of stairs descending into the lower town, close to which we could see the Liar's bridge on which, according to the legend, someone telling a lie can not stand, once it will collapse.

We stopped nearby so as to listen to a choir singing traditionl songs, but soon went across to look at the fourteenth century Evangelical church, before walking a little bit further to visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Built in the style of a Byzantine Basilica inspired by the Hagia Sophia, this Cathedral has outstanding iconastises of guilt carved wood  and a dome showing Crist Pantocrator flanked by angels in its interior which are really worth looking at.

Although we could not understand a word of what was being preached as we walked in we found it difficult to leave the Cathedral as the orthodox preacher so enthusiasticly waved his hands ... as if trying to get us to stand closer to him ...

I'll never know what he said but I will also never be able to say that he didn't impress me ...
