Three "godmothers" (Telma, Conceição and Celeste) will be travelling on a four day package tour to Praia over Carnival, not only to visit their "protégées" in Calheta but also to help out in the one day and a half "Arts and Crafts" workshop to be to carried out with Beat and Sibylle's support in regards to the use of ADEC's premises.
They are thrilled and so will the children (I am sure), but above all I believe it will be a meaningful experience for them, as far as the local reality is concerned, similarly to the one experienced by Marie Helène, the first "godmother" who decided to travel with me there last year.
A few more "godmothers" have shown interest in travelling there and so we will try to arrange it in such a way that there will always be someone coming along with me.
The birthday presents for Katiza, that I bought myself have been packed and so have Ivanilde Elena's souvenirs, which I bought on behalf of her "godmother" Rosa. Small souvenirs for the mothers of the children will also be taken, so the first embroidered cloths, table cloths and silk scarfs have been packed as well.

Because it will be Carnival and I know how much the girls love Carnival masks (we decorated some in the past) I have decided to use some of the money provided by Mr. Breitenstein to buy some, together with artistic material to make rings, earrings and bracelets.

Thanks to Celeste's generosity some clothes for two small children (Benedita's grandson and Joceline and Ivanilde Elena' s little brother) have also been packed.

A 22 kg pack has been handed out to a shipping company today and its contents for the children of Calheta - ADEC (boys and girls'T-shirts, tenis shoes, trousers, skirts, blouses, children books and games) have once more been provided thanks to the generosity of people, namely Francisco Lisboa and Luis Almeida, whom I would like to openly show my gratitude.
