We headed to the Ravansar county in the morning, so as to visit the Quri-Qaleh caves, having stopped briefly on the way to have an ice cream and watch how Iranians take advantage of their free day (Friday) for outside activities with the family members.
Upon reaching the Caves'area we took some time to watch a lady tossing dough and making some rather delicious sweet herb bread buns, said to be typical in the region.
Apart from being the longest caves in the Middle East the Quri Qaleh are known for their speleothem's wealth, the discovery of a number of artefacts dating back to the Sassanid era, the existence of four waterfalls in their depth and a colony of rather exquisite mouse ear bats, we were told.
The 12 kilometre long walk inside the galleries led to the sighting of some rather exquisite textures and rock formations, which is what I mostly paid attention to.
As we walked out we came across another Cristiano Ronaldo's football techniques fan, which I was getting used to, and prior to leaving the site listened to a Kurd singing while he played dayereh. His voice was mesmerising and did effectively draw everyone's attention.
