To see the primary school children dressed up as in accordance to the Carnival theme sellected for their class group was (as it always is) very interesting. It always surprises me to see how happy and excited the children look, even knowing they'll have to walk such a distance ( afew kilometres to the next village and back). To show their dancing skills seems to be important for them and for those, who being older are no longer Carnival parade participants.
I came across some of the "protected" children and adolescents, as well as their mothers before having made my way to greet Mafalda, the school head master, who is always behind the organization of such parade.
