The group gathered at Roissy CDG Airport on the 9th, so as to fly to Teheran via Istambul, which due to the time difference between the country we were flying from and our final destination, not to mention the stop over ended up being a one day long flight, once we only reached Teheran by late evening.
The initial impression of the group was quite favourable - we were fourteen in total and among them a known couple, Elizabeth and Jacques, whose company I had really enjoyed on a previous trip (to Cyprus).
The first surprise though (if I may call it as such) was the fact that according to the circuit brochure we were supposed to stay at a 5 star hotel for the first two days and we ended up being lodged at a 3 star one. The second being, I was put together with another lady, Joelle, who like myself hadn't paid for the single hotel room supplement.
The following day we headed to the Rezâ 'Abbassi Museum which houses numerous artefacts and objects of Art dating back to several epochs, many of which I couldn't help but photograph. The French conferencier conducted the visit in a rather extensive way, which allowed the several of us who had visited Iran before to "revise" part of the formerly provided information. The pictures I took of various objects I was drawn to to several different reasons may not speak for themselves but to further expand about each of them individually will probably turn this "visual" visit into a rather fastidious one.
(To be continued)
