The 15 Day trip to Vietnam - The Mandarin Route - Day 11 (afternoon) - On the way to Halong City - Flower market at Haiphong - The 27th of May 2016

Among the few "technical breaks" on the way to Halong city we stopped at Haiphong City's Opera House square where there was a magnificent flower market which uses both natural and artificial flowers for the bouquets and crowns.

We strolled around the flower stalls and were completely fascinated by the way the flower arrangements had been made. It was very difficult to identify the fresh flowers from the articifial ones even when we touched them.

It was fairly late in the evening when we finally reached Kenny Hotel in the Halong city, so we went straight up to the last floor to have dinner in the hotel restaurant room filled with particularly noisy local Vietnamese and Chinese guests. We could hardly hear the servant's voice ... but we didn't care because the following day we would be "exploring" the famous Halong Bay ...
