I keep on receiving presents for the children of Calheta, gently handed to me by some "godmothers" and which I intend to carry along with me next time I travel there with two friends and "godmothers" as well.
Birthday presents for Rivia (left) and Erica (right) bought by Olivia and Noëlle respectively
Dolls for Jussara (left) and Juliza (right) bought by Cristina Ferro and Isabel Mègre respectively
A toy bought for Veinilson by his "godfather" João
A huge amount of baby clothes were also gently given to me by Isabel Mègre the moment she heard we would be visiting an emergy centre for endangered babies and children during our stay in Praia.
"Wrong" as it may sound to some people who don't believe this is the adequate way to change these children's lives, many of us who are involved in this "project" are more focused onto providing them with some "moments" of hapiness and have them be "children" in their own right, despite the fact that it may just be for "insterpersed" moments.
Gestures of affection have never hurt anyone, particularly children ... children who have rarely had a toy or a new dress and who clearly do not take anything for granted.
We just expect to contribute with as much as we can in regards to the emergency Centre ... as well as spend part of the morning with those endangered and abandoned children.
May our "heartfelt" visit correspond to what we have envisaged ... and may the three of us transpire all the love everyone else has put into this ...
