We sailed along the rio Dulce heading towards the lake Izabal, the largest fresh water lake surrounded by a combination of water falls, canyons and rivers with an immense variety of aquatic birds and even mamals.
I don't think we had any idea of what to expect as we sailed off but it was soon clear it was going to be worth it.
The boat slowed down several times for us to thoroughly appreciate the beauty of the surrounding atmosphere, but there was one particular place (a carpeted water-lily area) where it stopped longer so as to allow us to take some photographs that I really fell for ... and looking at the captured images after all these years I still can't find the adequate words to describe what I felt ...
