Praia, Santiago island - Cape Verde - (Day 4 late afternoon) - Meeting up with Graça and Glorinha - The 28th of February 2017

I have been very fond of Graça and Glorinha since 2009 and despite the distance I often think of them and try to meet them whenever I fly to Praia ... the scarce minutes we manage to spend together every year and the messages we send each other may seem disproportionate if compared to the amount of affection I feel for them, but we both know where we stand when it comes to a deep relationship.

We spent a few moments at Café Sofia till we parted but Glorinha's smile will be with me for a long time ...

As soon as the Carnival parade started moving along the main Fazenda road Noëlle and I moved along with it and despite being very difficult to take photos because of the amount of people we still managed to take some, namely to the ongoing movement ... expressions ... mixtures of colours ... textures ...

 

 

It's useless to try to explain what was going on around us and particularly when the two competing groups met at a crossroads near Sucupira market ... the excitement was huge ... each group tried to impress the crowd ... the noise was unbearable ... and that's when Noëlle and I decided to walk back up to Plateau to meet Graça and her daughter Glorinha.
