Around the Imam square with and without Hamid; the traditional Banquet Hall restaurant - Isfahan, Iran - The 30th of October 2018 .....

We made it to the Imam square, where we met Hamid and his family pick-nicking on its gardens like many Iranian families. Because we hadn't yet eaten anything we headed towards the traditional Banquet Hall inside the  bazaar premises, where we had one of the most unique meal ever. We sellect three courses, one of which had a souce made with pomegranate syrup and crushed wallnuts we both found to be extremely tasteful and exquisite.

We spent the rest of the afternoon with Hamid, Sarah, Rohan and Romina drinking tea and sitting around in the Imam square gardens watching families enjoying the afternoon breeze and children playing with their kites.

On the way to Khaju's bridge ; Khaju bridge - The 30th of October 2018

Because of the public holiday I proposed to walk towards the Zayende Rud river towards the Khaju  bridge, where some singing might be going on and thus some sort of animation. Iranians tend to take advantage of every bit of free time to go out with their family members and enjoy nature or any form of open air activity, particularly if the weather isn't too bad.

We alked for two hours on end until we sighted the Khaju bridge. Although we could hear some male singers we stopped at the Cultural Centre underneath its foundations, where we spent some time chosing books by Iranian authors, which were translated into English and French.

I always seem to get emotial when I listen to these street singers. Many of their voices are absolutely astounding ... and then it's the whole aspect of one starting and then the other following ... in what always sound to me like laments ...

We stayed for a while till we finally decided to make our way towards the Imam square, passing by another one of my favourite nature oriented statues.

We had a marvellous evening at Hamid and Sarah's. Not only was dinner very delicious but also the evening conversation around the Iranian culture insterspersed by some children's playing. We left very late once the following day was a public holiday in Iran and none of the locals would supposedely work in the morning.
