Lisboa - Parque das Nações glazed tile panels ...



If  the sculptures in Parque das Nações are impressive so are the various glazed tile panels from the ones depicted on the walls of the Metro Station of Oriente to those along the main Avenue leading  towards Moscavide.




 











Antonio Segui (Argentina) - A glazed tile panel ocuppying the two southern walls of the Metro Station of Oriente representing detailed elements associated with the sea.
















Zao Wou-Ki (P. R. China) - a glazed tile panel transmitting the whole serenity of the oceans in what has been described a  marvellous graded blend of the sea colour tones.




















Abdoulaya Konaté - A panel, whose Malian author was able to get the best out of mixing cultural traditions and a contemporary approach in regards to the theme of the oceans.

































Gudmundur Gudmunsson - A comics type of approach to some of the myths and legends regarding the Portuguese Maritime expeditions has been used in this glazed tile panel by this Icelandic artist.






Yayoi Kussama (Japanese artist) - A glazed tile panel occupying the northernmost walls of the metro station of Oriente. 








A typical Hundertwasser design adapted to a glazed tile panel.
